Alpaca Bites into the Big Apple!

The Traveling Alpaca made his way to New York City to see a show, go to the ballet, hit some museums, hang out and dine like the king that he is.

Traveling Alpaca had a great time. Traveling Alpaca stayed at the beautiful Westin Times Square (http://www.westinny.com/), where he slept on a Heavenly Bed, used freshened up in the Heavenly Bath and had a heavenly experience overall. As a Club Level guest, Traveling Alpaca had access to the private breakfast room and devoured the variety of evening hors d'oeuvres offered by the hotel. His activities were equally enjoyable. He had terrific seats to see the New York City Ballet (http://www.nycballet.com/nycballet/homepage.asp) perform selections from four ballets, including Tschaikovsky's Pas de Deu. He also snagged some second row seats to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a new musical that he found thoroughly entertaining and fabulously funny (http://www.spellingbeethemusical.com/).

Traveling Alpaca also ate to his heart's delight, dining at Au Coin du Feu (originally of Vence in France, now also at 222 Lafayette Street (at Spring Street, http://www.aucoindufeuny.com/)). Although service was a bit slow (2.5-3 hours for dinner), it did allow the Traveling Alpaca to fully digest one delicious course before starting on the next. And despite the slow service, Traveling Alpaca was willing to return! Traveling Alpaca also dined at Cafe Mozart (on the upper west side, http://www.cafemozart.com/), where he had a taste of the best cheesecake in the world. Always the everyman, Traveling Alpaca also went to Papaya King (locations throughout NYC, online at http://www.papayaking.com/) for a perfect papaya juice and bought a dirty hot dog from a sidewalk vendor before heading to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
