Alpaca Depletes Maine's Lobster Population

Traveling Alpaca decided that it was time to see the good ol' USA. So he started in the Northeast, in the beautiful (former) resort town of Bar Harbor, Maine (pronounced "Bah Hahbah" by locals, http://www.barharborinfo.com/). He took a wonderful little trolley tour through the city and through portions of Acadia National Park (http://www.nps.gov/acad/) and learned about the colorful history of the little town that is now best known for its delicious lobster and chocolate-covered blueberries. The Traveling Alpaca enjoyed plenty of both. Pictured above is Traveling Alpaca overlooking Bar Harbor bay from the foothills of Acadia National Park. The little islands are privately-owned, and during high tide can become almost completely submerged.

Maine is home to the best lobster in the country. Even the seemingly crappy little hole in the wall shacks feature fantastic lobster dishes. Alpaca had to be sure of this, so he took one for the team and tried lobster in every nook and cranny in Maine. I should have said Maine WAS home to the best lobster in the country. Alpaca ate them all. He said they were good. As far as recommendations, follow your nose. You simply can't go wrong. Alpaca even found places near a busy pier that served fantastic lobster. If there's a line, it's terrific. If there isn't a line, it's probably still terrific.

Alpaca also became a devoted fan of the famous Maine chocolate covered blueberries. Amazing that he had room for blueberries after devouring the state's population of lobsters.
