The Traveling Alpaca
The Traveling Alpaca is a finger puppet from Peru that brought us endless hours of entertainment. Its travels throughout Peru are well-documented through countless pictures of the Traveling Alpaca climbing the mountain from Aguas Calientes to the peak of Machu Picchu, wading in the river, dancing during a dinner show and exploring churches in Lima. In this blog, the Traveling Alpaca offers to you its travel reviews and restaurant recommendations. The Traveing Alpaca: I travel. I eat. I burp.

Grand Cayman Is Not Hell!
There is a city in Grand Cayman named Hell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell,_Grand_Cayman), named so for the rocky formations in the immediate area. The rest of Grand Cayman, though, more likely resembles Paradise (http://www.caymanislands.ky/).
We passed our time a number of ways, including through visits to famous Seven-Mile Beach (which isn't really seven miles, but is really long, http://www.caymanvacations.com/indexmenu.htm?general/sightseeing.htm&2) and visiting the Cayman Islands Turtle Farm (http://www.turtle.ky/video.htm) - that is, before we knew that they raised the turtles to eat them. Oops. Since we had already swam with stingrays in Belize (see earlier post), we didn't bother going to Stingray City (http://www.stingraycitytrips.com/), which provides the same experience.
We spent the rest of our time snorkeling, and much to our fright, learned that anywhere there is a cemetary, there is terrific snorkeling. Don't ask - I don't want to think about why. It just is. Much to our joy, though, Grand Cayman looked much like the underwater beauty of the film "Finding Nemo" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266543/) - particularly at the "dropoff," where Nemo was not allowed to venture beyond. The colors were very vibrant, the fish plentiful, the sand soft and the water warm. Just perfect.
