O Canada, Alpaca Stands on Guard for Thee!

Canada is not Traveling Alpaca's home and native land, like the national anthem goes (http://www.pch.gc.ca/progs/cpsc-ccsp/sc-cs/anthem_e.cfm), but Alpaca fell in love with it all the same. On a recent visit, he took the very fast (58 seconds) elevator to the top of glass-bottomed CN Tower (1,815-feet high) in Toronto (and became somewhat dizzy). While in Toronto, he gorged himself on some fabulous chocolate and fruit crepes at the exceptionally good Movenpick cafeteria chain (http://www.moevenpick-gastronomy.com/restaurants/fr/Homepage.htm).

While in Toronto, we visited the Hockey Hall of Fame (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hockey_Hall_of_Fame - located in a former bank building, complete with operational vaults - very cool). We posed with the Stanley Cup, took turns hitting a puck past a video goalie on simulation ice and tried to defend goals hit by video Canadian hockey stars (including Wayne Gretsky). Even made it past the Great Gretsky a few times!

We also visited the adorable little lakeside town of Unionville (http://www.unionvilleinfo.com). The feel was more of a village, with its quaint, cozy restaurants, stores and coffee shops. It was straight out of a movie. Fantastic.

Here, Traveling Alpaca stands on guard for Casa Loma (http://www.casaloma.org/), the castle-like home (complete with secret access ways) and sprawling gardens of a wealthy Toronto financier. Here, Alpaca is posing near the gardens.
