Waikiki? Why Not?!

The Alpaca headed to Waikiki for the soft sand, the warm sun and the crystal-blue water. Waikiki did not disappoint. Although he had been there once before, Alpaca's first stop was Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve (http://www.honolulu.gov/parks/facility/hanaumabay/, you can see him in the middle) for some great snorkeling fun. There, he saw green turtles, plenty of fish, brightly colored coral and, later in the afternoon, way too many kids in the water for his liking (he's a very health-conscious Alpaca). The island also offered in addition great views of Diamond Head (http://www.hawaiiweb.com/html/diamond_head.html), the Dole Plantation's Pineapple Maze (http://www.dole-plantation.com/) and the fantastic surfing that is the North Shore (http://www.northshoreoahu.org/), featuring world-famous Banzai Pipeline of Triple Crown of Surfing fame (http://www.triplecrownofsurfing.com/best_of_2005.php).

The only food of note were those sweet, sweet Dole pineapples and the fantastic papayas. The Alpaca could live on fruit alone.
