John, the Little-Known Saint of Clear, Placid Waters

Alpaca loves the US Virgin Islands (http://www.usvi.net/). He loves how clean they are, how peaceful they are, how mellow the people are and how clear and warm the water is.

When Alpaca found himself on St. Thomas a second time, it was a no-brainer for him that he would head straight to Red Hook (with an island tour en route to the harbor, http://www.usvitourism.vi/en/stthomas/st_Travel_Transportation.html) to take the "fast ferry" (http://www.usvi.net/usvi/ferry.htm) to beautiful St. John (http://www.usvi.net/usvi/stj.html), where 2/3 of the island has been declared a national park (and is cared for accordingly, http://www.nps.gov/viis/).

Once on St. John, we flagged a taxi (here, open-air trucks with bench seating in the back) to Trunk Bay for some quality snorkeling (http://www.vinow.com/stjohn/beaches_stj/). Here, Alpaca tried sailing and was quite successful at it!
