Alpaca Rips Vegas a New One!

We dragged Alpaca to Las Vegas to visit one of my law school classmates and her husband. We had an eventful weekend planned with hopes of seeing some midget wrestling (didn't work out), a trip to Red Rock (not as amazing as Sedona, but still lovely, http://www.sunsetcities.com/redrock.html), Avenue Q (fantastic - you can't go wrong with dirty puppets, http://www.avenueq.com/) and - of course - a visit to Elvis-A-Rama Museum of all things Elvis (http://www.elvisarama.com/).

But the highlight of the weekend was going to shoot machine guns. How did this happen? Well, we were driving past a big concrete building and saw a huge sign that announced, "Shoot a Machine Gun." Naturally, all four (five, including the Alpaca) of us rubber-necked. Within moments, we u-turned on the street and I, donning pearls, wearing a skirt and, of course, penny loafers, asked Mike at Las Vegas Gun Range & Firearms Center (4610 Blue Diamond Rd., Las Vegas, 702.386.4867, http://lasvegasgunrange.net/ and http://www.packing.org/range/nevada/range.php?range=995) to teach me how to shoot a machine gun. Mike provided us instruction prior to letting us loose with a machine gun in the shooting range.

I'm still for gun control, but it was great fun.

And consider this fair warning: if you see me with a machine gun, get the heck out of the way. My aim is not, shall we say, good.
